Tell that solids retain their shapes and that liquids take the shapes of their containers

Describe observations of changes of state between solids and liquids

Report that the Universe is immense

Identify parts of the Solar System

Observe and identify major surface features of Earth

Observe Earth materials, including solid rocks, sand, soil, and water, and recognize that these materials have different observable physical properties

Describe impacts of water on Earth’s surface (e.g., plant growth, flooding, mudslides)

Identify the natural environment as the source of many resources

Observe, record, and predict weather changes
